A recent move from an industrial concrete studio, to a space on the fringe of a forest has offered me a new found awareness of the natural world and all its beauty. Through this physical move, my work has also experienced a spiritual shift that has allowed me to perceive things on a more Universal level.
My current work speaks of the interactions between each of the elements; earth, wind, fire and water, along with three other elemental forces of human necessity; biodiversity, spirituality and love.
I am fascinated by the way green leaves grow on a tree, turn red, fall to the ground and continue their metamorphosis through varying shades of burnt reds and clays, until decomposing and feeding the tree once more; an analogy, as I see it, for human birth, growth, learning, physical death and spiritual reincarnation.
My work strives to portray a sense of oneness and an inextricable interconnection between every life force.
It is my hope that people respond to the work in a way that contributes positively to the careful development and nurturing of the sacred balance that is life.
