JOHN TURTON
Although John considers himself essentially a colourist,
it is his enthusiasm for the Australian landscape
that inspires him.
He conveys his love of the land through
both vibrant and subtle shades of colour. Portraying
detail, depth and texture with light and energy in
each of his distinctive pieces.
His work is not literal, but more
a contemporary suggestion of the forms and interplay
of light on the landscape. Although described as landscape,
for they depict the countryside, they often abstract
the subject. This gives a sense of instant recognition
whilst being imprecise in location.
