Up until recently, I have spent most of my life living and working in the ACT. I have an extensive visual arts background and have been involved in Art Education for the past 20 years.
I began my “art journey” in ceramics and graphic arts. I completed my teaching degree and attending my final studies at the Canberra School of Art. As arts educator, I have developed courses for teachers and students in printmaking and clay work.
This experience enabled me to work at the National Gallery of Australia as an Education officer working with students and developing workshops for children in Public Programs at the NGA to coincide with major exhibitions.
After re-locating to Brisbane in 2003 I became interested in jewellery making and working particularly with glass beads.
Through my absolute frustration at not being able to find “exactly” what I wanted I took a course in bead making, and started making my own. It has been an obsessive and addictive journey.
I am a self-representing artist and a proud member of the Australian Glass Beadmakers Guild, founded in Brisbane in 2003.
